Along the west coast of Southern Jutland, the great marshland spreads out its open expanses with its prolific birdlife on the border between land and sea. The natural environment is shaped by the ebb and flow of the tides; it is so unique that it has been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Photographer Ulrik Petersen has captured the colours, moods and experiences of this very special environment for ‘Tøndermarsk Initiativet’ (a broad-based collaboration between the municipality and various foundations to develop and protect the marshlands). We have been allowed to use a couple of his beautiful photographs as our inspiration for creating the right tone of the Marshland Collection.

More fantastic photographs from the Tønder Marshland can be seen at Instagram: toendermarsken and msj.dk/Højer Mølle
