Blooming Enamel

Nolde Museum (Stiftung Seebüll Ada und Emil Nolde),
Germany

Pin - Sunflower
Pin - Poppy

Wherever Emil and Ada Nolde settled, they laid out a garden according to their own visions, and created their own blooming paradise. Sitting in the garden, Nolde painted virtuosic watercolours of powerful luminosity and great intensity.

We were honored with the task of interpreting Nolde´s famous pictures of Poppies and Sunflowers into enamel pins. The living colors were to be transferred to another material, but in a way that preserved the intuitive strokes and fine hues. We framed the pins with a card, presenting the original artwork, which makes the pin blend into the beautiful flowering garden.

Here at soSouvenir we much enjoy when we are allowed to make our artistic interpretation of the big master pieces in art.
